Early Beginnings
V.D.M. Hotshot Service Ltd. was founded by Walter & Gladys Dubinsky in 1973 in Edmonton, Alberta. At that time, this small, family owned and operated company consisted of one Hot Shot pick-up truck. By 1976, Walter & Gladys had increased their service company to eight Hot Shot trucks and seven employees.

This growth was due to the dependable, safe, and courteous delivery of products required by their customers. With the added help of their three sons, the growth continued over the next several years.

On July 31, 1987, the eldest son, Vern and his wife Donna established ownership of V.D.M. Hotshot and continued the growth of the family business to keep up with the demands in the oilfield. Vern increased the fleet with additional tractor/trailers, pickers, and winch truck units. A solid core of staff had been established over the years and to this day, the majority of the original employees are still employed with the company.

From Hotshot to V.D.M. Trucking Services Ltd
On June 6, 2005, Vern changed the name of the company from V.D.M. Hotshot to V.D.M. Trucking Services Ltd. The other services that the company had been providing for many years, is more accurately reflected through the new name. The baby hotshot service company that it once was is now a full-grown trucking service company.

In 2001, with the addition of Vern and Donna’s two sons, Michael and Bob Dubinsky, who assist in the management of the company, the business not only continues within the family, but also continues to prosper and grow.

Proof of this growth is that the fleet size of V.D.M. Trucking Services Ltd. Now consists of over 150 pieces of equipment, which includes a full range of rig moving equipment, expansion of the pipe storage yard facilities to three yards, and the addition of twelve well site units.
